Information Session / Open House — Wednesday, October 26th, 2011 — 5:30–8:00pm: All interested families are strongly encouraged to attend! SLA representatives will be visiting schools all over Philadelphia, and SLA will have a booth at the School District of Philadelphia High School Fair.

Criteria: Admission to SLA is based on a combination of a student interview at the school with a presentation of completed work, Advanced or Proficient PSSA scores, As and Bs with the possible exception of one C, teacher or counselor recommendation and good attendance and punctuality. Interested families must contact the school to set up an appointment for an interview. SLA will not initiate the interview process with families.

Interviews: Interested applicants who meet our admissions criteria should call the school at 215-979-5620 to set up an interview. SLA will not initiate contact with any students to set up interviews.

Interview Dates and Time for 2011:
Dec. 3rd: 2:00 pm
Dec. 4th: 10:00 am and 2:00 pm
Dec. 17th: 10:00 am and 2:00 pm
Dec. 18th: 10:00 am and 2:00 pm

The interview is a project-based interview. Students should bring a school paper or project done in 7th or 8th grade that s/he feels is a strong representation of who they are as a student.

Projects will be returned to applicants. Students may include photocopies of their work.
